East of Schenectady were two aqueducts which crossed and recrossed the Mohawk River: the Rexford Aqueduct (or Upper Mohawk River Aqueduct) at Rexford, and the Crescent Aqueduct (or Lower Mohawk River Aqueduct) twelve miles downstream at Crescent.
